Latest Mix: Above The Clouds #6 with Katiusha: Cloudless
Aired on 23rd July, Katiusha's latest mix on Cashmere Radio is online for your ears only!
What would happen if there were never any clouds at all? If clouds are the notation; the rhythm – would no clouds leave us with silence?
This midsummer episode honours the outstretched blue-sky that provides an eternal canvas for every cloud expression there is. This month and this month only, Above The Clouds sinks into expansive ambient, ethereal soundscapes and wistful vocals for an hour and a half you can really lie on your back to.

KMRU’s new mix online for Open Editions / British Earways

Unseen Objects
KMRU
Joseph Kamaru (aka KMRU) is a DJ and producer based in Kenya. Although an active participant on the Nairobi electronic music scene, he is less known in the UK. Let’s hope that’s about to change...
His programme for British Earways, ‘Unseen Objects’, will be an unwinding, ever evolving, body of work that meanders between the real and imaginary. Field recordings made in his home town (as well as locations as far flung as St Petersburg and Berlin) are threaded on a chain of ambient events that suspend actuality: somewhat in the manner of a score for a film that will never be made.
Bringing to mind the philosophical conundrum about whether a falling tree in a forest makes a sound as it crashes to the ground if no one is present to hear it, ‘Unseen Objects’ raises a metaphysical question about unperceived existence. To invert the maxim that ‘to be is to be perceived’, KMRU’s redolent synth improvisations and eavesdropping on everyday life, once heard, bring a whole other world into precise existence.
